20 Banana Farm workers required for 6 months work in the Tully & Mareeba region of Northern Queensland. The mainly outdoors work involves harvesting, packing and general crop management of bananas on up to 4 properties and will be available for up to six months starting early May 2020 through November 2020.
$25.66 per hour
Transport provided to farms
accommodation available at $175 per week
2nd year visa eligible
6 months minimum work
The jobs available are very labour intensive and require heavy lifting.
The work is only suitable for people able to:
- carry bunches of bananas weighing up to 30kgs
- dig out unwanted banana trees (shovelling)
- demonstrate they are physically fit
- Physical fitness
- Good communication skills
- Ability to commit to six months of work
- You must be willing to comply with farm safety rules, including drug and alcohol testing on the farms
The work is casual and there will be approx 8 hours per day, 5-6 days a week, depending on weather conditions paid at $25.66/ hour. Due to the high physical demands of these positions and regular periods of hot and humid weather, workers will need to be physically fit and self-motivated - please address these selection criteria in your cover letter.
